  • Elements of the home page, and other pages, were not editable using Beaver Builder. The BB interface would simply not load
  • Disabled BuddyBoss Platform Pro and BuddyBoss Platform, which were not being used except to provide login / register functionality in the main menu. There is no logged in content, currently
  • Disabled Login and Logout Redirect, which was not being used
  • Turned off other unused plugins including LoginWP, WP-Optimize, and Termly
  • Deleted a number of duplicated pages
  • Disabled all plugins, cleared all caches
  • Turned on Beaver Builder Pro
  • Page is now editable
  • Sequentially experimented to identify the plugin responsible for the issue
  • The problem lies with the animations used on pages, provided by UABB. Almost all rows and columns on the homepage had some level of animation. Reducing the number of animations / turning them off entirely re-enables the Beaver Builder interface
  • Turned on all previously essential plugins
  • Installed WP Super Cache and Health Check & Troubleshooting for site performance
  • Re-activated link to Updraft
  • Removed unused Themes
  • Created ‘Change Log’ page (this page!)
  • There were two conflicting privacy policy pages, the less evolved one was the one published. I swapped the pages and gave Privacy Policy status to the correct page
  • Deleted around 300 spam comments
  • Some observations:
    • There’s no GDPR banner (Termly was not used)
    • Cookie Policy wording is weak
    • Login / log out functionality currently provides no benefit
    • BuddyBoss is not configured “The following active BuddyBoss Components do not have associated WordPress Pages: Members, Activity Feeds, Activate, Register.”
